For a wedding album full of bright, colorful photographs with emotion captured in every frame, you’ve come to the right place. On wedding days, I am a unique blend of fly-on-the-wall documentarian and passionate director - in other words, enjoy your day your way, and trust me to take care of the rest! I take pride in delivering colorful, vibrant, true-to-color photographs that are timeless expressions of my couples' love stories.
This spring wedding at The Gardens at Viola's in Flagstaff, Arizona is such a great example of all the different aspects of a wedding coming together to create one joyous, memorable evening. Here's what you can expect from hiring me as your photographer to capture it:
Part 1: Getting Ready & Detail photos
Before the ceremony, I'm all about photographing those unique, intimate moments that you might not even think about twice at first. Hair and makeup in the bridal suite with your besties, drinks in the groom's suite, finally seeing the decor come together, and so many more of the little things before the ceremony.
Part 2: The Ceremony
The most important part of the day, every ceremony is such a unique expression of love. Every piece of it, from the people in your bridal party, to that first time seeing your partner at the altar, your officiant's speech or religious service, your unity ceremony, your vows, and your first kiss as a married couple, says so much about your love story. Often, there is so much adrenaline during the ceremony, that it seems to fly by. That's why I'm here to assure you that it's okay to relax - just take it all in, and be comforted by the knowledge that I'm documenting every tiny piece of it for you to hold onto for a lifetime.
Part 4: Group Portraits
Have no fear - I'm here to wrangle your family and bridal party into every grouping of people on your list for formal portraits. I like to take a mix of formal and fun portraits to let everyone's personality shine out while still knocking out all of the "must-have" shots. I recommend doing these at or near the ceremony site immediately after the ceremony, so there is less need to round people up multiple times.
Part 5: Newlywed Portraits
After the group portraits are taken care of, we can move on to my favorite part of the wedding to photograph: your newlywed couple's portraits! We'll head off to a scenic area of the venue and create some magic, while also allowing you and your partner a bit of time away from the craziness of the event. Whether you have an entire Pinterest board of ideas you want for these photos, or want to keep it short and sweet, we'll get some absolutely gorgeous shots while you're both basking in the glow of being freshly married.
Part 6: The Reception
Finally - time to let loose and have fun at the party you've spent so long putting together! Most receptions start with some form of grand entrance and/or introduction of the wedding party and newlyweds. This is usually after a cocktail hour and before dinner, dessert, and an open dancefloor. They may include traditions such as the couple's first dance after being married, parent dances, cake cutting, toasts, bouquet and/or garter toss(es), prosperity dances, etc. Additionally, some couples add their own flair or borrow from trends, such as group-photo-musical-chairs to get photos with every guest, grand exits, photobooths, family traditions, and so much more. Your reception is your chance to really let your personalities shine and go all out - I'll be there to make sure it's all documented for you to look back on in the years to come.
